The Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, has lamented how good traditions of Hausa people were abandoned and discarded by the society.
She said the ministry is determined to revitalize and mark such important heritages which, according to her, truly showcased the ways of life of Hausa people.
The Commissioner made the disclosure while discussing with journalists as part of World Tourism Day celebration held at Kano State Tourism Board, Wednesday.
Accordingly, the ministry is making arrangements to celebrate ‘Kallan kowa immediately after harvesting period, Garko pointed out.
Kallon kowa is a long-forgotten culture in Hausaland, where people, especially farmers, expressed their appreciations for the farm produce they harvested from their farms.
The Commissioner said the ministry is reviewing some of the culture that are no longer practiced, with view to reinvigorate and present them to the world at subsquent cultural festivals.
She then thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for all the necessary support and cooperation given to the ministry.
