The Director General Kano State Private Health Institution Management Agency has reaffirmed that, his agency will Synergies with associations to curtail spread of illegal drugs among the people in the State.
The DG made the assertion while receiving the Kano State Hospital Friends Alliance Committee who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Professor Salisu Ahmad ibrahim said since his assumption into office he received various organizations who are willing to map out strategies and modalities which will in turn stride positive outcomes, adding that, The Agency has contacting DSS to joint hands together to conduct an investigation with the aim at fishing out culprits on drug abuse and most often engage in mobile operations to curtail the supply of illegal drugs,” but with the emergence of your association, I will also partner with your association to bring sanity into the health system in the state” DG said.
In his remarks, the chairman of the Committee Professor Mohammad Lawan kaurangini said the visit to the agency was aimed at conducting a stakeholders consultation and advocacy meeting on leveraging partnership for health development programmes and activities in the state.
He said they have members in all the 44 local government in the state who always engage to provide enabling environment for easy access to health facilities, stressing that, “We supply a lot of hospital items through the philanthropic intervention and we are equally mobilising people through the help of imams, ward head, traditional rulers as well as community volunteers to admonish people to go near by hospital when they are sick in order to reduce mortality rate”. Said the Committee Chair.
He however urge governments and the concern citizens as collective responsibility to curtail the supply of illegal drugs or to mitigate the free flow of such harmful substances in the state and also called on the government to give them office and vehicles to discharge their duties effectively.
