Kano Concludes Digital Health Logistics Training

In a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board Sa’adatu Suleiman disclosed that, The training, organized by the Kano State Ministry of Health through the Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) in collaboration with Field Technology Development, was held from September 28 to October 2, 2026, at Joclarif Hotel, Zaria, Kaduna State.

The workshop equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills on the Nigeria Health Logistics Management Information System (NHLMIS) and Supply Software to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability in the management of health commodities across Primary Healthcare Centres and secondary health facilities.

 

Participants included 44 Local Government Essential Drug Officers, 44 in-state team members, and officials from the State Ministry of Health, DMCSA, Kano State Hospital Management Board and Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board.

 

The training is expected to enable participants to step down the knowledge to Pharmacy In-Charges across health facilities, ensuring the successful statewide implementation of the digital commodity requisition and reporting system.

 

The hands-on sessions covered stock reporting, data analytics, commodity ordering, warehouse operations, Last Mile Delivery (LMD), route planning and electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD), all designed to improve real-time visibility of health commodities, strengthen supply chain accountability and ensure the timely availability of essential medicines across Kano State.

 

The workshop marks another milestone in the state’s commitment to leveraging digital technology to improve healthcare service delivery and ensure efficient management of medical commodities.
