Rogo Local Government has swiftly procured medications to contain a suspected diphtheria outbreak in Rogo-Ruma Ward, particularly in Gangarbi town, while ensuring emergency medical assistance reaches affected residents.

The Acting Chairman of Rogo Local Government, Hon. Yahaya Shu’aibu Yunus Madatai, disclosed this during an interview with the Local Government Information Officer, Abdu Bako Abdullahi, ANIPR, in his office.

Hon. Madatai stated that the Local Government has already implemented necessary measures to prevent the suspected disease from spreading to other communities. He emphasized that the action aligns with the Local Government’s commitment to supporting the Kano State Government’s drive to improve healthcare services and protect citizens’ health across the state.
The Acting Chairman called on residents of the affected area to continue cooperating with the Government and health officials to ensure effective delivery of medical intervention. He urged full collaboration with health teams to enable them to carry out their duties without hindrance.
Hon. Madatai also commended the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, and other stakeholders in the area for their support and cooperation towards the development of Rogo Local Government.
In his remarks, the Primary Healthcare Coordinator of Rogo Local Government, Malam Ahmed Usman Getso, confirmed that health officials under his supervision have already deployed to Gangarbi town to provide an immediate response and implement containment protocols. He added that the team would continue to monitor the situation closely and work with the community to safeguard public health.
