Bebeji LG Intensifies Security Measures, Holds Emergency Stakeholders’ Meeting

As part of renewed efforts to enhance security and safeguard lives and property, the Bebeji Local Government Council has convened a special security stakeholders’ meeting at the Council Secretariat to review the security situation and adopt proactive measures aimed at preventing criminal activities across the Local Government Area.
Speaking during the meeting, the Executive Chairman of Bebeji Local Government, Dr. Alhassan Salisu Bebeji, reaffirmed the Council’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the area. He noted that the Local Government would continue to strengthen collaboration with security agencies and intensify efforts to combat criminal elements threatening the safety of residents.
In a statement signed by Muktar Ibrahim Inuwa the council information officer stated that, The Chairman further assured that the Council would work hand in hand with the Kano State Government by providing the necessary support and operational resources required by security agencies to effectively discharge their responsibilities. He also offered prayers that the unfortunate security incident recently experienced in Gwarmai community would never be repeated in any part of the Local Government.
Also speaking, the District Head of Bebeji, Alhaji Sarki Yusuf Bayaro, urged village heads, ward heads, and community leaders to remain vigilant by promptly reporting suspicious persons and unusual activities to security agencies. According to him, timely information sharing is essential for preventing crime and ensuring lasting peace.
He further appealed to religious leaders to continue praying for peace, unity, and stability across Bebeji Local Government and Kano State as a whole.
The meeting brought together key government officials and heads of security agencies, including the Director of Administration and General Services, Alhaji Kabiru Rogo; the Divisional Police Officer, represented by CSP M. M. Murtala; officials of the Department of State Services (DSS); the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB); the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); the Neighborhood Watch Corps; Vigilante groups; Hunters Association; and other critical security stakeholders.
The stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration, intelligence sharing, and community participation in order to sustain peace and improve security across Bebeji Local Government Area.
