Pure Water Producers and Vendors Association Calls for Stronger Collaboration with KSCPC

The Pure Water Producers and Vendors Association, led by Chairman Alhaji Ahmad Bala Hudu, paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) to formally establish a working relationship and seek guidance on improving packaged water production and distribution.
During the meeting, Alhaji Ahmad Bala Hudu said the delegation’s primary purpose was to introduce the association to the Council and request advice that would strengthen operations and support industry growth. He emphasized the vital role KSCPC plays in regulating consumer products and protecting public health, particularly in the packaged drinking water sector.
Kano CPC Urges Traders to Prioritize Product Quality
In a statement signed by Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai Director Public Enlightenment of the Council further stated that, Alhaji Hudu reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting the Council and to full compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and quality guidelines that safeguard consumers.
Responding, KSCPC Executive Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad (IG) welcomed the engagement and stressed that collaboration between the Council and essential goods producers is critical to fulfilling KSCPC’s mandate to protect consumer rights. He urged the association’s leadership to continue educating members on adherence to health and safety standards and to ensure all production requirements are consistently met.
Dr. Ibrahim reiterated the Council’s resolve to protect both consumers and legitimate businesses by enforcing relevant regulations and quality standards without compromise.
The meeting concluded with a review of key challenges affecting the packaged water industry and a set of recommendations aimed at improving sector performance and ensuring the consistent production of safe, high-quality drinking water for consumers.
