Kano Strengthens Primary Healthcare Strategy Through Stakeholder Workshop

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), in collaboration with Sydani Group, has successfully concluded a three-day high-level co-creation workshop focused on advancing primary healthcare reforms and enhancing service delivery across the state.IMG 20260424 WA0100 IMG 20260424 WA0099 IMG 20260424 WA0096 IMG 20260424 WA0093

In The workshop, held from 22nd to 24th April 2026 at Comfort Hub Hotels, Kano, brought together key stakeholders, programme managers, and technical partners to jointly develop and refine critical health system documents.

In his remarks, the Director General of KSPHCMB, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, highlighted the importance of a co-creation approach in fostering inclusive, data-driven, and sustainable health interventions. He commended participants for their commitment and technical input, noting that the workshop’s outcomes will significantly shape effective implementation strategies for improved primary healthcare delivery.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Board Sa’adatu Suleiman further disclosed that, Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in rigorous technical discussions, collaboratively reviewing, harmonizing, and strengthening draft programmatic documents. The process ensured that field realities, stakeholder insights, and global best practices were fully integrated into the frameworks, enhancing their overall relevance and impact.

As part of the agreed next steps, participants resolved to incorporate all identified corrections and submit revised documents to the secretariat. This will be followed by a comprehensive review, validation process, and eventual adoption of the finalized documents to guide implementation statewide.

The KSPHCMB reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and leveraging technical expertise from organizations such as Sydani Group to accelerate progress towards improved health outcomes and the attainment of universal health coverage in Kano State.
