FAAN Gombe Seeks Stronger Security Collaboration, Gets Relief for Airport Staff
The Management Team of Brigadier Zakari Maimalari International Airport (BZMIA), Gombe, under the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Gombe State, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and operational synergy.
In a statement signed by Mr. Essai Pensur Epson stated that, During the visit, the Airport Manager, Mr. Suleiman Marafa, stated that the engagement was aimed at enhancing coordination between the airport authorities and the police to ensure improved security and smooth airport operations.

He also appealed for the lifting of restrictions on motorcycle movement affecting airport staff, noting that they are essential workers who require mobility to effectively carry out their duties.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police CP Umar Ahmed Chuso MNIS,fwc,PSD(+) warmly received the delegation and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between both institutions. He explained that the restriction on motorcycle movement from 7:00 p.m. was introduced as part of measures to curb criminal activities.
However, the Commissioner approved an exemption for airport staff on duty, particularly during the Hajj period, on the condition that they carry valid identification at all times.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to the Commissioner by the Airport Manager on behalf of the FAAN Management Team.
