KSPHCMB Acts on Lapses at Burji PHC

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) has taken immediate administrative actions following an unscheduled supervisory visit to Burji Primary Health Care (PHC) facility in Madobi Local Government Area by the Director General, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim.
As part of the Board’s routine oversight to enforce standards, accountability, and quality service delivery, the visit revealed operational lapses at the facility. Consequently, the Head of Department of Burji PHC and other concerned staff were invited to the KSPHCMB headquarters for an administrative review.

In a statement signed by Sa’adatu Suleiman the Board’s Public Relations officer disclosed that, At the end of the engagement, decisive actions were approved. The officer in charge of Burji PHC has been relieved of the position, while staff responsible for antenatal services have been dropped. In addition, a general posting out of all staff of the facility has been authorized to enable a comprehensive reset of operations and management.
Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim reaffirmed the Board’s zero-tolerance policy for negligence, absenteeism, and poor service delivery, emphasizing that public health facilities must remain functional, responsive, and people-oriented at all times. He assured residents that necessary measures are being implemented to restore effective service delivery at Burji PHC and strengthen performance across all primary health facilities in Kano State.
