The MD said they were at the Agency to solicit for partnership with KASUBA to landscape and beautify the Zoo.
Hon. Sadiq Kura Mohammed his mission as the new MD is to restore the lost glory of the Zoo as when it was founded iby former military governor Late Audu Bako in 1971.
“We came to this Agency (KASUBA) because we are stretched in terms the infrastructures. Most of the structures at the Zoo were dated back to our grandfather of blessed memory, late Audu Bako who founded the Zoo.
“The facility is stretched beyond capacity. So, we rushed to this sister agency for assistance in terms of landscaping as we need to beautify the place.
“The last time we received a massive infrastructural investment was eight (8) years ago during the administration of former Governor, His Excellency Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Apart from that, the Zoo did not receive any massive infrastructures,” he revealed.
He further added that apart from the Zoo which provides avenue for research and conservation, there is also a botanical garden that provides serenity and recreation.
Responding, the Director General of KASUBA, Arc. Yusuf Danjuma Zarewa assured the MD that KASUBA will work hand-in-hand with KAZOWMA to modernize the Zoo.
Apart from landscaping requested, the DG pledged to provide sign post to guide visitors to different parts of the Zoo.
Arc. Zarewa described Zoo as the only place in Kano metropolis where people go and have a direct contact with the gradually diminishing nature.
He commended Hon. Sadiq Kura Mohammed for the visit which he said will strengthen the synergy between the two agencies.
