NSE Raises Alarm Over Rising Quackery in Engineering Profession

NSE Raises Alarm Over Rising Quackery in Engineering Profession

From Mu’awuya Bala Idris, Katsina

The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Katsina State Branch, has expressed deep concern over the growing rate of quackery within the engineering profession. The alarm was raised by the branch chairman, Engineer Shamsu Bashir Ibrahim, during the inauguration ceremony of newly elected officials held at the Gwagware Foundation.

Engr. Ibrahim warned that quackery poses serious threats to lives, property, and public confidence in the profession, calling on all NSE members in the state to unite in combating the menace. He urged engineers to report and resist any attempt to undermine professional standards, emphasizing that only qualified and duly registered practitioners should identify as engineers. He further stated that NSE will collaborate with security agencies to ensure the arrest and prosecution of impostors.
