Northern Women Urges to Support Their Husbands, Uphold Dignity, Religion, and Culture

The Sarkin Dawaki Babba of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, has urged Northern women to remain supportive of their husbands while protecting their dignity, religion, and cultural heritage.
Alhaji Aminu Babba made the call while chairing the Northern Women Initiative Summit, held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where he emphasized the crucial role of women in promoting unity, morality, and the preservation of traditional values in society.
In his remarks, the respected traditional leader donated ₦5 million to support the activities of the Northern Women Initiative, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to women empowerment and community development.
He further cautioned participants against the misuse of social media, describing it as a growing challenge that often distracts from family and moral responsibilities. Alhaji Aminu Babba encouraged women to stay focused on positive values and avoid engaging in online activities that could harm their reputations or those of their families.
Speaking on the theme of the event, “Empowering Northern Women for Cultural and Economic Advancement,” the Sarkin Dawaki Babba called on women to serve as true ambassadors of the North, promoting peace, unity, and progress wherever they find themselves.

Accompanied by his brother, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, Director General of the National Productivity Centre, and other distinguished guests, Alhaji Aminu Babba reaffirmed his commitment to the continuous growth and unity of the Northern community.
In appreciation, the Association of Northern Women Initiative described Sarkin Dawaki Babba as a true custodian of culture and integrity, praising his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to community development. They also lauded his role as a pillar of strength and guidance to many across the region.
The Summit concluded with a renewed call for women to take active roles in protecting their cultural identity while contributing meaningfully to social and economic progress across Northern Nigeria.
