Kano State Commissioner Pledges Support for Community Development Initiatives

The Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdussalam, has reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting Community Development Associations (CDAs) that undertake development projects through communal efforts.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Dukawuya Development Association at the commissioner’s office. Represented by the Director of Community Development, Comrade Bashir Tijjani, the commissioner praised the association for its consistent contributions to the progress of their community.

Alhaji Abdussalam expressed particular admiration for the association’s efforts in enrolling children and youths in Islamiyya schools, conventional schools, and tertiary institutions—both within and outside Nigeria—to acquire both Western and Islamic education. He commended their dedication to educational advancement and assured them of the ministry’s continued support for community development initiatives across the state.

During the visit, the delegation leader and Chairman of the Dukawuya Development Association, Alhaji Ya’u Suleiman Kala, highlighted the purpose of their visit, which included introducing the association and briefing the commissioner on their activities, such as youth and women empowerment programs aimed at fostering self-reliance.
Alhaji Kala also appealed to the Kano State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, to provide employment opportunities for the numerous unemployed graduates in the Dukawuya community who have completed tertiary education.
The commissioner expressed satisfaction with the visit and reiterated the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with community-based organizations to drive sustainable development in Kano State
