Kano State government has vowed to look into the issue of tuition fees increase in the Nigerian public universities.
The state commissioner of transportation engineer Muhammad Diggol stated this while receiving the executive members of Bayern University classes chapters representatives and leader’s forum who paid him a courtesy visit.at his office.
The commissioner who called on the federal government and other stakeholders to review the policy which he said it is affecting the studies of students especially at this period of economics crunch that is facing the country.and assured them that Kano State government will do everything possible to assist students in the state.
The commissioner who highlighted the policy and programmes of the present administration which is aimed at reviving the conducive atmosphere of teaching and learning at all the own tertiary institutions said government has always focused it’s attention to boost educational sub sector.
Engineer Muhammad Diggol further stressed that, the state government under the leadership of engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the policy of scholarship of Kano State indigenes to pursue high qualifications of learning outside the country which was inline of the state government policies to inculcate sound education in the minds of younger generation.
Earlier the leader of the delegation Ali Rodha Idris told the commissioner that they were at his office to register their appreciation of the government support to education as well as called on the present administration in the state to look into the issues of various challenges affecting the students particularly the issue of the tuition fees increase in the Nigerian public universities.
Ali Rodha Idris however decries how the Nigerian public universities increase the rates of VG accommodation which he said is also affecting the learning of the students and called the government to assist them in this direction.
