SUMAILA LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL COMMENDS RUWASA FOR TACKLING WATER SCARCITY

The sumaila local government council has applauded the Rural water supply and sanitation agency (RUWASA) for it’s efforts to end the longstanding shortage of portable drinking water in sumaila town.
The chairman of the council, Alhaji Faruk Abdu sumaila made the commendation during an inspection tour of the ongoing water projects in the town.He emphasized the commitment of the present state administration under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to resolving water scarcity, a major challenge faced by residents for years.
RUWASA expertise in water system promoted our council to award them the contract to provide sustainable water solutions to our community, said Alhaji Faruk. He further disclosed that the council had drilled over thirty new hand pump boreholes and Rehabilitated existing ones across sumaila town and neighbouring villages to improve access to clean water.
In a related development, the chairman assured Ruwasa of the council full support in eradicating open defecation.He urged village heads and resident to construct latrines in their homes and public space to promote hygiene and environmental sustainability.
The managing Director of RUWASA, engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah represented by the Agency Director of planning, Hajiya Zara,u muktar, expressed gratitude to the sumaila local government council for it’s collaboration and assistance during the project.
The Rural water supply and sanitation agency (RUWASA) is dedicated to improving access to clean water and sanitation in rural communities ensuring public health and sustainable development.
