Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board Mourns Dakatsalle Tragedy Victims, Prays for Divine Mercy

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has expressed profound grief over the tragic demise of 22 members of the Kano State contingent during the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a solemn statement delivered during a special prayer session in Saudi Arabia, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, lamented the devastating loss and led supplications for the repose of the departed souls.

Speaking on behalf of the Board’s staff and the 2025 Pilgrimage delegation, Alhaji Danbappa extended deepest condolences to the bereaved families. He also conveyed heartfelt sympathies to His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf; the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo; the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Isma’il Falgore; His Royal Highness, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II; and the entire people of Kano State.

The Director General described the incident as a painful blow to the state, urging prayers for divine mercy upon the deceased and fortitude for their families to endure the irreplaceable loss.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the affected families during this difficult period.
