Aminu Dabo College of Nursing Sciences (AD-CONS) today conducted the first round of entrance examination for the eligible candidates who applied to study diploma in Basic Nursing and Midwifery programs 2023/2024 academic session.
The exam was conducted under strict supervision of the College staff headed by the Registrar Malama Halima Lawan Dambazau, assisted by Hajiya Ladi lbrahim Director Midwifery and Nursing Services, Mal Usamatu, Malama Fiddausi Abubakar as well as Madam Hannah Bolyn, Proprietor’s Secretary.
A large number of candidates across the states who came to the venue on scheduled were first received, screened and presented at the exams classes by Engr Ishaq Gamma Amzans College Exams Officer, who also coordinated the exercise.
The Provost Mal Ibrahim Musa Dakata, who shaded more light on the exercise, said the college adopted aptitude test as a criterion to ascertain the cognitive abilities and ensure high academic standards on the selection of the best candidates before enrolling them into the programs.
He noted with happiness that the conduct was smooth and hitch free as apparently seen candidates have shown great appetite, discipline and enthusiasm as no case of exam misconduct was spotted during the exercise.
In a talk with me, shortly after the exercise, the agent of ‘Waraka Scholarship Intiative’, an Educational Foundation exclusively owned by Distinguished Senator Abdulrahaman Kawu Sumaila, who sponsored a number of candidates, expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for the exams.
Barr. Muhammad Aminu Kofa in the company of Comrd Ali Umar who escorted the sponsored candidates showered praises to the Proprietor of the College Arc Aminu Dabo for establishing the College that provides ample opportunities for people to further their studies on health education and make a livelihood.
The college has since inception adopted the aptitude test as a criterion for selection of best candidates to ascertain the cognitive abilities and skills of prospective candidates before admission into its programs.
