Defence Minister Assesses Operations, Commends Troops’ Bravery in Kebbi

Abuja, 09 May 2025 – The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, undertook an operational visit to Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, on Thursday, 08 May 2025, where he engaged with troops of the Nigerian Army at Dukku Barracks. The visit aimed to evaluate the progress of ongoing military operations in the state and reinforce the fighting spirit of the gallant soldiers in the battle against insecurity, particularly in the North West region.

During his address, the Minister conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s profound gratitude to the troops for their unwavering dedication and successes in restoring peace across the nation, especially in countering banditry and related crimes. He lauded their professionalism, courage, and sacrifices, emphasizing that the President and the entire nation deeply appreciate their commitment.

“It is time to end all forms of insecurity,” declared the Minister, charging the troops to intensify their efforts. In a stirring moment, he posed the question: *“Are you ready to finish this fight?”* – to which the soldiers responded with a resounding, *“Yes! Sir!”*

Encouraged by their unwavering resolve, the Minister expressed confidence that normalcy would soon be restored, enabling citizens to pursue their livelihoods without fear. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to prioritizing troops’ welfare and providing the necessary support to ensure operational success.
