DEFENCE MINISTER LAUNCHES DEFENCE HOLDINGS COMPANY LIMITED TO ADVANCE MILITARY INDUSTRIALIZATION
The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has officially commissioned the Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL), in a landmark ceremony held in Abuja.
The establishment of DHCL marks a pivotal step in strengthening Nigeria’s defence capabilities and fostering military-driven industrial growth in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
The newly inaugurated company is designed to serve as a strategic hub for innovation, enhancing Nigeria’s defence sector while contributing to national economic development. Through its diversified subsidiaries, DHCL will drive value creation, stimulate industrial growth, and support the realization of a robust Military Industrial Complex (MIC) to bolster national security and self-reliance.
In his keynote address, the Minister highlighted the critical role of DHCL in empowering the Armed Forces to engage in enterprises such as real estate, engineering, agriculture, and more, thereby fostering sustainable national development. He expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to modernizing Nigeria’s defence architecture and enhancing military welfare.
“Today’s commissioning of the Defence Holdings Company Limited rekindles our hope for a more advanced and self-sufficient Nigerian military,”* stated Minister Abubakar. “We call on all stakeholders, partners, and the general public to collaborate with DHCL in driving prosperity and national progress.”
