SSG, Head of Civil Service Embark on Inspection Tour of Salary Validation Centers to Ensure Effective Salary Administration
In a bid to enhance transparency and accountability in salary administration, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim, alongside the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, and the Chairman of the Payroll Standing Committee, Alhaji Auwalu Umar Sanda, has commenced an inspection tour of salary validation centers across the state.
The exercise is designed to verify staff records, eliminate payroll discrepancies, and ensure that only duly recognized employees receive salaries. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to financial prudence and the promotion of an efficient civil service.
During the tour, the Secretary to the State Government reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to eliminating inefficiencies in salary payments. “This validation process is critical to ensuring a transparent and accountable payroll system. It will help us identify irregularities and prevent financial leakages,” he stated.
Similarly, the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, emphasized that the exercise would enhance workforce management. “Proper salary administration is a fundamental aspect of good governance. This verification ensures that civil servants are accurately captured in the system, allowing for prompt and rightful salary payments,” he remarked.
The inspection tour included visits to multiple validation centers, where the team assessed the efficiency of the process and engaged with civil servants undergoing verification. Many employees expressed their support, acknowledging that the initiative would promote fairness and efficiency in salary payments.
The government remains committed to ensuring that all civil servants receive their salaries promptly and correctly. The validation exercise will continue across various centers to guarantee full compliance with payroll integrity measures.
The tour commenced shortly after 10:00 AM, with the team making the Computer Center their first point of call. The SSG expressed satisfaction with the process, noting that only minor corrections were required. From there, the team proceeded to inspect more than half of the validation centers across the state.
A key highlight of the tour was the visit to the Pilgrims Welfare Board, where the SSG assured civil servants that they would receive their salaries before the forthcoming Sallah celebration, provided they participated in the verification exercise. He further emphasized that salary-related challenges had been effectively addressed.
Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim extended his profound gratitude to His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants and the entire people of Kano State.
