Dangote Foundation Launches Massive Food Intervention Project: 1 Million Nigerians to Receive 1 Million Bags of Rice Worth N16 Billion
In a monumental philanthropic effort, the Aliko Dangote Foundation is distributing one million bags of rice worth N16 billion across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria. This initiative, part of the 2025 Annual National Food Intervention Project, aims to alleviate the economic challenges faced by millions of Nigerians.
*A Lifeline for the Vulnerable:
The project targets the most vulnerable individuals, providing a 10kg bag of rice to over one million Nigerians. The Kano State Government and Kano Chamber of Commerce have played a pivotal role in the successful flag off ceremony of the distribution ceremony.

Chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Mr. Aliko Dangote, emphasized the importance of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility in addressing the current economic challenges. “This annual initiative reflects our commitment to supporting our communities in line with our core values,” he stated.

The Foundation is collaborating with state governments to ensure that the food reaches the most vulnerable individuals. To guarantee transparency, a committee comprising relevant ministries, CSOs, religious leaders, and security agencies has been established to oversee the distribution process.

Mr. Dangote urged other businessmen, industrialists, and organizations to join forces in combating hunger and poverty. “We need public-private partnerships to fight the scourge nationwide,” he emphasized.
