The Kano State Government has commenced the construction of solar powered boreholes in 17 local government areas across the state. This initiative was aims to address the shortage of portable drinking water in these areas.
According to Engr. Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah, Managing Director of the Kano State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), the project is designed to provide clean drinking water to the communities in GWALE, MADOBI, GWARZO, KIRU, ROGO, SHANONO, DANBATTA, DALA, MINJIBIR, GEZAWA, TARAUNI, GARKO, TUDUN WADA, DOGUWA, GABASAWA, ALBASU, and KANO MUNICIPAL.
The project, dubbed “ABBA RUWA GIDA GIDA,” is expected to significantly improve the lives of residents in these areas by providing access to clean and reliable drinking water.
