Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, the Director-General of the Private Health Institution Management Agency, urges Traditional Medicine practitioners to fully cooperate with the agency’s workforce to accomplish their objectives effectively.
Professor Salisu Ahmad made this appeal during the supervision of a Mapping Out Exercise for Traditional Medicine in the state today. This initiative aims to register and map out Traditional Medicine practitioners across seven selected local governments in the state.
Highlighting the significance of this initiative, the Director-General emphasized the critical role Traditional Medicine practitioners play in achieving the agency’s objectives.
He further noted that this initiative receives support from KHETFUND and FCDO-(LAFIYA).
Represented by Alhaji Aminu Uba, Focal Person for Laboratory Services, Professor Salisu Ahmad emphasized that registering and mapping out Traditional Medicine practitioners will enable the government to accurately assess the number of individuals involved in the production and sale of Traditional Medicine, facilitating better regulation and support for the sector.
The Director-General expressed optimism that with the cooperation of Traditional Medicine practitioners, the agency will be better equipped to achieve its goals of enhancing healthcare delivery and promoting the traditional healthcare system in the state.
The selected local governments include Warawa, Gezawa, Dawakin-kudu, Garun-malam, Madobi, Kura, and Minjibir Local Government Areas.
