Kano Municipal Local Government Council has reported an outbreak of Measles in Some part of the local government area.
This was disclosed by the Primary Health Care Coordinator of the Area Alhaji Aliyu Jinjiri Kiru during a meeting of the Emergency Preparednes Response Committee at the local Government Secretariat.
The affected areas according to the PHCC include, Sharada, Madatai and Gandun Albasu.
He urged people in the area to report any outbreak to the nearest Health Facility assuring that the local government council has provided measures to tackle the outbreak.
On his part, the officer in charge of Disease Control Tukur Hassan said the patients has since been refers to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for isolation and other necessary medication.
The District Head of Municipal Madakin Kano Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani call on the Village and Ward Heads to give more emphases on public health of their subject and commended the present administration for its effort in improving the health sector in the state.
In his remark, the Director Personal Management of the Council Alhaji Rabiu Muhamnad Rabiu Gwarzo said, the local government will do everything possible to assist the Health Department with all necessary logistics to eradicate the outbreak.
