Kano Information Officers Laud Gov. Yusuf, Commissioner Waiya on Capacity Building
The Forum of Local Government Information Officers in Kano State has commended Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for their sustained support and commitment to strengthening the capacity of Information Officers across the state.

In a statement issued on behalf of members drawn from the 44 Local Government Areas and eight Zonal Information Offices, the Forum described the capacity-building initiative as timely and impactful, noting that it has significantly enhanced their professional competence and effectiveness in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Forum stated that the training and support received have equipped members with the necessary skills to effectively communicate and promote government policies and programmes, particularly in key sectors such as education, healthcare, economic development, investment promotion, and women and youth empowerment.
It further emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s strong commitment to promoting professionalism, ethical standards, and efficiency in public information management across all levels of governance.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the ethics and standards of journalism, while intensifying efforts to accurately report government activities and developmental projects. It also pledged to continue serving as a vital link between the government and the people, ensuring effective feedback for timely interventions, while promoting transparency, accountability, and efficient information dissemination.
