Kano Govt Engages Market Leaders on Dangwauro Modern Market Project

The Kano State Government has intensified efforts to reduce urban congestion and improve commercial infrastructure through strategic engagement with key market stakeholders on the proposed modern market in Dangwauro.

The State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar, led a high-level consultation with leaders of Yankaba Market (Vegetable Market) and Na’ibawa Yan Lemo (Fruit Market). The meeting is part of the government’s broader plan to develop a modern, well-organized, and efficient market in Dangwauro.

In a statement signed by Murtala Shehu Umar Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry stated that, The engagement provided an opportunity to gather inputs, concerns, and recommendations from market leaders to ensure the proposed facility meets the needs of traders. Discussions highlighted the importance of a conducive business environment, improved market organization, and enhanced ease of operations.

Market leaders commended the state government for adopting an inclusive approach and expressed strong support for the initiative. They also pledged their full cooperation towards the successful implementation of the project.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to sustainable urban development, economic growth, and improved livelihoods for traders across Kano State.
