NWDC, NPC Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Productivity in Nigeria’s North-West Region

In an efforts to accelerate economic growth, the North-West Development Commission (NWDC) and the National Productivity Centre (NPC) have committed to a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing productivity across the seven states of Nigeria’s North-West region.
The collaboration was formalized during a working visit by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NWDC, Professor Shehu Abdullahi Ma’aji, to the Director-General of the NPC, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, at the NPC headquarters in Abuja.

During the meeting, both leaders affirmed their commitment to establishing joint initiatives focused on capacity-building programs in key sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
In his welcome address, the NPC Director-General, Dr. Dan Agundi, outlined the initiative and expressed the Centre’s full readiness to support the NWDC’s developmental agenda. He confirmed that support would be delivered through joint training programs, comprehensive productivity assessments, and targeted technical assistance to businesses and institutions in the region.

Speaking on the partnership, Professor Ma’aji reinforced the NWDC’s commitment to building strategic alliances with federal agencies to fulfill its core mandate. “This partnership is pivotal to our mission of promoting sustainable socio-economic development in Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States,” he stated.
This alliance marks a critical step towards harnessing the economic potential of the North-West, aiming to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and create a more prosperous future for the region’s residents.
