Bindawa Local Government Empowers 600 Residents with Livelihood Support

In a significant move to boost income generation and reduce unemployment, the Bindawa Local Government Council of Katsina State has distributed empowerment items and cash assistance to 600 beneficiaries, including widows, butchers, and party officials.
The empowerment initiative included a total of 300 grinding machines, spaghetti-making machines, sewing machines, and motorcycles, providing recipients with the essential tools to establish or expand their small businesses.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony, His Excellency, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, commended the council for the program, stating that it would significantly reduce unemployment and enhance the living standards of families. Governor Radda urged other local government areas to follow this example.
“The administration is committed to ensuring the financial autonomy of local governments to enable the execution of projects that directly improve the lives of our people, especially in rural areas,” Governor Radda said.
He also called on the beneficiaries to use the items for their intended purpose of generating sustainable income, advising them against selling the equipment.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Bindawa Local Government, Hon. Badaru Musa Giremawa, revealed that this was the seventh such empowerment program provided by the council under his leadership.

Detailing the support, Hon. Giremawa stated that each of the 300 butchers would receive N500,000 alongside meat processing pans to enhance their businesses. He also announced that the council had provided official vehicles to the APC Chairman, the Liaison Officer, the Media Assistant, and the Council Secretary. Furthermore, 22 motorcycles were distributed to elected councilors to facilitate their official duties.
The Chairman assured residents that the council has executed various other projects across the area, focusing on the provision of clean water, road construction, and the development of schools.
