Governor Radda Launches KASEDA Digital Academy, Awards ₦10 Million Grants to 200 Katsina Entrepreneurs

In celebration of the 2025 International MSME Day, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, unveiled the KASEDA Digital Academy and disbursed ₦10 million in grants to 200 local entrepreneurs, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to fostering a vibrant business ecosystem for youth and women.

Speaking at the event, Governor Radda emphasized the state’s dedication to empowering homegrown enterprises, developing human capital, and stimulating economic growth across all 34 local government areas.
“When we assumed office, we resolved to transform Katsina into a hub of enterprise and innovation,”* he declared. *“Our people are talented and hardworking—they need the right support, tools, and confidence to thrive. That is precisely what we are providing.”
The Governor highlighted several initiatives aimed at uplifting entrepreneurs, including zero-interest loans, skills development programs, and infrastructural improvements to ensure inclusivity—even in rural communities. Over the past year, targeted outreach campaigns have extended business support to previously underserved areas.
“From Funtua to Baure, Jibia to Kafur, we have brought entrepreneurship closer to the people. No community is left behind,” Governor Radda stated.
The newly launched KASEDA Digital Academy** is set to revolutionize MSMEs in Katsina by offering training in e-commerce, digital marketing, financial literacy, and business strategy. Governor Radda described the academy as a critical step toward “future-proofing” local businesses in an increasingly digital world.
As part of the MSME Day celebrations, the Governor announced that 200 beneficiaries of this year’s MSME Fair and Clinic will each receive ₦50,000 business grants, alongside a two-day training program on business sustainability, customer service, and innovation.
“Opportunities are here. We are ready to support your business dreams—but you must take that first step,” he urged Katsina’s youth.
Hajiya A’isha Aminu Malumfashi, Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), represented by Dr. Babangida Ruma, Technical Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development, outlined the agency’s achievements among which includes: Supported over 8,000 MSMEs through finance, advisory services, and mentorship.
– Facilitated ₦3.4 billion in interest-free loans
– Conducted Katsina’s first-ever MSME census, identifying 600,000+ businesses and mapping 50,000+ informal enterprises
– Trained 3,000 youth mechanics in partnership with the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association as well as Launched of 1,000+ youth-owned startups through funding and incubation.
Governor Radda called on government agencies, private investors, and financial institutions to sustain their support for MSMEs, emphasizing the need to dismantle barriers to business growth.
“Together, we can unlock the full potential of Katsina’s entrepreneurs and build a more prosperous future,” he concluded.
