Kano Police Vows Thorough Investigation into Rano Police Station Arson, Assures Enhanced Security Measures

The Kano State Police Command has pledged to conduct a comprehensive investigation and take necessary legal actions regarding the recent arson attack on the Rano Local Government Area Police Station. The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, made this commitment during a condolence and solidarity visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isah Umaru, at his palace.

CP Bakori expressed deep concern over the tragic death of a young man, Abdullahi Umar, popularly known as Kuli-Kuli, and the burning of the Rano Divisional Police Station. He assured the Emir that the police are taking all necessary steps to ensure such incidents do not reoccur. The CP also confirmed that a senior police officer sustained severe injuries during the unrest and is currently receiving medical treatment.

In his remarks, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isah Umaru, condemned the incident, stating that the Rano Emirate was deeply saddened by the violence. He urged the Commissioner of Police to expedite investigations and bring those responsible for inciting public unrest to justice. The Emir reaffirmed the emirate’s unwavering support for security agencies in maintaining peace and order within the domain.

On his part, the Chairman of Rano Local Government, Alhaji Naziru Ya’u, disclosed that the council had promptly provided necessary support following the incident. He extended his condolences to the family of the late Abdullahi Umar (Kuli-Kuli), who lost his life during the crisis. Additionally, Alhaji Naziru Ya’u reiterated the local government’s ban on unauthorized motorcycle rallies by youths to ensure sustained peace in the area.

The Kano Police Command reassures the public of its commitment to upholding law and order while urging citizens to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
