KNSG To Pays March Salaries Early to Ease Sallah Celebrations for Workers
In a move to support civil servants ahead of the Sallah festivities, the Kano State Government has ensured the timely payment of March salaries, allowing workers to celebrate without financial strain.
Alhaji Auwalu Sanda, Chairman of the Payroll Standing Committee, confirmed that nearly **90% of the state’s workforce** has been successfully validated, with full payment expected by **March 26, 2025**. He noted that this initiative is part of broader reforms to permanently resolve salary delays in the state.
Alhaji Sanda praised the cooperation of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in facilitating a smooth validation process. He also addressed concerns about salary deductions, clarifying that most complaints stemmed from pre-existing loan agreements between workers and financial institutions, not payroll errors.
With the rigorous validation process, we do not foresee major issues. Any discrepancies are likely due to individual financial arrangements or system errors—not the payroll itself. However, we remain committed to resolving any concerns promptly,”* he assured.
The committee chairman highlighted **Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s** unwavering commitment to ensuring timely salary payments and improving workers’ welfare. He urged civil servants and the public to recognise the governor’s efforts and to use the holy month to pray for the state’s continued peace and prosperity.
This early salary disbursement underscores the administration’s dedication to alleviating financial burdens during festive periods, reinforcing its pledge to efficient governance.
