People of Yanoko in Rogo Local Government area have expressed joy as the Council Chairman Alh Abubakar Mustapha Rogo launched the renovation of Yanoko Bridge in the area.
In a statement signed by the Information officer of the Local Government Abdu Bako Abdullahi stated that, The chairman, represented by the Local Government Secretary, Alhaji Basiru Magaji Beli, emphasized that the renovation was necessary to facilitate movement of goods and services between the various communities in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Yanoko, Malam Dahiru Yahaya expressed their happiness on the renovation and commended the chairman for initiating the project.
He also emphasized that the road would bring socio-ecomomic activities especially in transporting agricultural produce.
In his address, the Local Government Secretary, Alhaji Basiru Magaji Beli who officially inaugurated the bridge renovation, stated that soil erosion was a major threat to the structure.
He therefore called for the cooperation of people of the area to contractor to ensure smooth and peaceful execution of the project.
He further stated that the renovation would take three weeks and urged the community to support the initiative.
In their remarks, the Leader of the Local Council, Alhaji Lawan Suleiman Fulatan, and the Supervisory Councillor for Works Transport and Housing, Malam Abdullahi Umar Fulatan thanked all stakeholders in the area for their support towards the take off of the project.
They informed the people that their request for the construction of the road from Kwanar Jajaye and Barbaji through Yanoko to Fulatan, has been forwarded to Kano State Governor
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and would be addressed soon.
