Kano State Government Promised to upgrade Zakirai Primary Health Care Hospital to a General Hospital.
The State Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam disclosed this at the flag-off of Polio Immunization held at Zakirai Primary Health Care Hospital in Gabasawa local government area.
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam called on Gabasawa Local Government Council, District and Village Heads as well as Ward Heads to step-up effort in eradicating polio in the area.
The Deputy Governor said the choice of Zakirai to flag-off the exercise was in recognition of the fact that the area has the largest percentage of children yet to be immunized against polio.
He further revealed that Kano State Government has planned to build new Primary Health Care Hospitals in forty-four local government areas in the state.
The Deputy Governor commended Gabasawa local government for making adequate arrangement for the successful flag-off of the immunization exercise.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the council, Alh Mahe Garba Garun-Danga thanked Kano State Government for choosing Gabasawa Local Government Dvernment for the flag-off exercise aimed at eradicating polio.
The Primary Health Care Coordinator for Gabasawa local government area, Alh Kabiru Musa Gamawa thanked the state Commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusif and the Director General Kano State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Nasiru Mahmoud for the provision of necessary logistics for the successful conduct of the exercise.
